Dr. Strange and Clea participate in a mystical activity for recreation, unaware that they are being watched in secret by Baron Mordo, who has survived his previous encounter with Dr. Strange and is plotting revenge against the Sorcerer Supreme. Later, as Strange is using the Orb of Agamotto to make sure all is well in other mystical realms, Strange is interrupted when Sara Wolfe advises him of a phone call. This momentary distraction allows Mordo (who has been gaining new power in another realm) to cast a spell that gives him direct access to the telephone conversation between Strange and his caller: Morgana Blessing. Morgana explains to Stephen that she is a writer and after learning that he is an expert in the Black Arts is inviting him over to her place to hear her proposal to be consultant for her next book of fiction which would centre on the occult. When Strange detects Mordo's presence on the line, he believes it's coming from Morgana as he is already suspicious of a mystical background in the woman and agrees to meet her, falling into Mordo's trap. Arriving at Morgana's apartment, they begin to discuss her book when suddenly they are attacked by Baron Mordo who transports them to a mystical realm to combat Dr. Strange. Strange is forced on the defencive due to the fact that Mordo's powers have been boosted to near infinite levels by his time away from Earth. As the battle rages on Clea is suddenly taken away from her studies by a strange feeling. When she learns that Stephen is away on a errand, she decides to consult the Orb of Agamotto. She is suddenly contacted by some of her people in the Dark Dimension who have asked her to aid them in overthrowing Umar's control over the realm. Cross with them for never being there when she and Dr. Strange had previously battled both Dormammu and Umar in the past turns them away, wanting nothing to do with her mother realm ever again. Back in Morgana's apartment, the battle against Baron Mordo rages on until Mordo seemingly defeats Dr. Strange. He then turns his attentions to Morgana and is about to kill her when he is attacked by Morgana's cat. This cat is in reality possessed by the astral form of Dr. Strange who uses the moment of distraction to unleash the full force of his power casting a mighty spell that seemingly destroys Baron Mordo and restores everything to normal. Having fainted during the battle against Baron Morodo, Morgana revives remembering little of what had happened. Stephen realizing that there are mystical forces at work which may be caused by Morgana herself, Strange asks that she meet with him at his Sanctum Sanctorum the next day and leaves. Morgana goes to her balcony where she finds what she thinks is her cat, but unknown to her it's really Baron Mordo in disguise. Mordo had survived the battle, killed her real cat and taken it's place so that he may sneak into Strange's Sanctum later and exact his final revenge.
